San Francisco: THE City Guide

Hi besties! San Francisco Bay Area native here, and I’m ready to spill the beans on all the BEST places in San Francisco! I could go on and on about the Bay Area, but I’m going to keep this blog dedicated just to the 7’7 city of all our dreams.

I have kept a basic spreadsheet for friends + family for a while now, and I decided it was time to drop this into a blog (something more permanent, ya know?). This is going to be a rougher guide than I usually do, but I figured that my readers would want the real + raw SF experience. Here we go! (Read More)

The Life of a (Temporary) Nomad

ICYMI, John and I spent the past 3 months living in different cities, and it’s something I would recommend to absolutely anyone. It all started one day in Oakland- John and I were feeling particularly bored and angsty after a year of lockdown. Things were starting to open up a bit more, and it hit us that this whole ‘WFH’ thing might not last forever. We wanted to seize this opportunity and do some traveling (safely, of course!).

John and I own our home, and knew we couldn’t afford to pay the mortgage plus rental fees as we traveled. We decided to list our home on Zillow as a short term rental and see if anyone was interested. If nobody was interested, we were going to let it go. Luckily, someone was interested and we had our home rented within 2 days. That meant we had 3 weeks to pack up, find an Airbnb, and start our adventure. (Read More)

City Guide: Albuquerque

We had the opportunity to live in Albuquerque, NM during the month of May this year, and it was such a unique, fun experience. New Mexico is known for the color turquoise and chili peppers, but we discovered beautiful scenery, cool national parks, and incredible food.

Albuquerque is home to New Mexican food, which is basically Mexican food with more chilis, cheese, and heavy sauces! We ate sooooo much good food, but had zero appetite by the time we left. Balance is key here! This city guide is going to be mostly about the incredible food in Abq, with a splattering of fun activities and cool places to visit. (Read More)

City Guide: Seattle

We had the opportunity to live in Seattle for the month of April this year, and wow, what a place! We loved every minute of it and wish we could stay!

Seattle is a foodie’s haven. Seriously, be prepared to EAT. It’s such a beautiful and expansive city, with many incredible day or weekend trips for the adventurer at heart. There’s endless possibilities in and around the city, that you’ll definitely keep yourself busy (there’s something for everyone!). (Read More)

Olympic National Forest Park Guide

Tucked away in the most Northwestern part of the US is Olympic National Park, 1,422 square miles of untouched forest. We spent 3 days galavanting through the forest, and it was absolutely just as magical as it sounds. I completely believe that everyone must experience this at some point in their lifetime (why not now?!), so I put together a guide to make your visit a piece of cake. From where to stay to what to do, I gotchu!

City Guide: Paris

Ahhh Paris. There’s a reason that people write songs about Paris. This city is for lovers, explorers, foodies, and especially for shoppers. When I was walking around Paris, I noticed how beautiful everything is. Parisians take beauty very seriously. Everything in the city has to be perfect, whether that be the piles of pastries in each bakery, each and every little bistro lining the streets, and their incredible outfits. My god, their outfits! Everyone was beautiful. And it’s an effortless beauty; that level of perfection that has you saying, “oh yes, I rolled out of bed, grabbed my croissant, and left looking like this.”

We spent 3 days taking in every bit of Paris, and I can’t wait to share with you all the tips and tricks I learned along the way!

City Guide: Melbourne

Long, long ago, I moved to Melbourne, Australia for 6 months. Yes, okay, I was on exchange, but it felt like I moved my whole heart to another country. I loved every day of this journey, and fell head over heels in love with this magical city.

I had been dreaming about Australia since I was young, and I knew that I would move there, one day! The 6 months I spent there was nowhere near long enough, and I did cry into my chardonnay all the way home. (Read More)

Travel Like a Queen

(Without Breaking the Bank)

There’s no denying, we all love a glamorous vacation every once in a while. At 24 years old, I have been to over 30 countries and 6 continents. Obviously I wasn’t taking myself on all of these trips as I was growing up, but over the last 24 years, I have learned a thing or two about traveling on a budget.

I can’t stand when people say that they just can’t travel because they can’t afford it. Not to say that there aren’t times in your life where you should save instead of dropping a couple grand on a vacation. Just like everything else in life, you have to make this a priority. (Read More)

The Perfect Day in Sonoma- No ‘Wineing’ Allowed!

First off, there are 3 main parts of wine country: Sonoma, Napa, and Healdsburg. It seems that out-of-towners have only ever heard of Napa, and everyone from the Bay has their favorite. I happen to love Sonoma- down-to-Earth wineries, beautiful rolling hills, and the best restaurants, in my humble opinion.

The perfect day means planning ahead. It’s easy to assume that the wineries are all lumped together, but this is not true, and you will be very sad if you plan to visit several wineries that are all 20+ minutes away from each other. Several also require reservations to enjoy anything more than a tasting. But don’t worry, I’ve created a plan just for you! (Read More)
